C-Nuts Dauphine Tour June 2023

June 4, 2023 - June 12, 2023

With Topbike's ‘Dauphine’ tour, we’ll be starting in Geneva before moving south to Bedoin and the
more infamous climb of ‘Ventoux’, with three different approaches (not that we’ll do all three) but
we’ll try at least one, and follow it up with a gorge ride back into Bedoin. After Ventoux we’ll move
up to La Clusaz, where we’ll have a couple of nights relaxing, betweenst bouts of hill-climbing
before our final three days of chasing the ‘Criterium du Dauphine’.
Rides will average 70-100k, along with an average of >1000m vertical, per day.
P/up: 11.00am, June 4, Geneva Airport (or other location if arranged prior)
Drop off: 12.00 noon, June 12, Geneva Airport (or other location if arranged prior)
Hire bikes can be organized at an additional cost. 2022 full carbon Italian ‘Wilier’ bikes, all with
mechanical shifters, rim brakes and compact gearing. Wilier Electric Bikes are also now
available.
Day 1, Sunday, June 4
We'll meet at Geneva (exact location TBA) before transferring in the Topbike air conditioned mini-
bus to Bedoin, just south of the Ventoux (350k, 4.5h). If all goes well, we’ll get there with enough
time to get out for a flat ride around Bedoin, maybe a coffee or an aperitif in town, while we watch
todays Dauphine stage, before returning for a sundowner by the pool, and dinner.
Accommodation: Three star hotel, just out of town
Dinner tonight: Inhouse restaurant
Ride: 40k loop, <600m vertical.

Day 2, Monday, June 5
While the first 24k of today’s ride may be all uphill – and not just any hill – the Mont of Ventoux, no
less, there are some benefits. We’ll spend the remaining 60k plus of this ride, descending back
towards our starting point, making a big loop through the town of Sault, and the Gorges des les
Nesque. On our return we should be able to pop into Bedoin, maybe for a coffee, or an aperitif,
while we watch the race in a bar, before again returning to our hotel for a sundowner by the pool,
and dinner.
Accommodation: Three star hotel, just out of town
Dinner tonight: Inhouse restaurant
Ride: 88k, <2500m vertical. One big mo-fo of a climb, then it all just gets better!

Days 3-4-5, Tues-Wed-Thurs, June 6-7-8
We’ll transport out of Bedoin, after breakfast, and an early morning ride for those who are keen,
and head for the Haute-Savoie region of the Rhone Alps, to the town of La Clusaz. Here we’ll
spend three days visiting the towns of Bonneville, Thônes, Les Gets, Morzine, and even Lake
Annecy while climbing many of the surrounding cols used in many, many Tours de France. Le Petit
& Grand Bornands, Col de la Buffaz, Col des Aravis et al. All the while keeping up with what is
happening in ‘the Dauphine’ each afternoon, on the tele in a local bar.
Accommodation: Chalet in the Alps

Days 6-7-8, Fri-Sat-Sun, June 9-10-11
Today we’re into the vans and off to chase the ‘Criterium du Dauphine’ around the Alps, for three
days. Ideally we’ll see a stage start, a stage finish and the peloton cresting a KOM. The race route
will be announced in April, and we’ll know our location for the final three days, and itinerary, after
that announcement.
Day 11, Monday, June 8
Pack up day, after breakfast we’ll be in the Topbike Vans and off to Geneva. Drop off point will be
Geneva, by 12 noon. Or other destination, if arranged prior. After enjoying breakfast together, for
all of those not staying on, it's pack-up time, and off to further destinations, au revoir!
Included in your tour is all transport from Geneva to Geneva for you, your bike and one bag,
accommodation, all breakfasts and all dinners. You will also receive a full 5 piece Topbike kit. Also
included are your experienced and knowledgeable guides, maps, training tips, coaching (if
